"This painting represents the connection back to mother earth and how we connect with her and how she makes us feel.

The idea for this painting came to Davinder while living in far north Queensland back in 2018. Walking along the beaches with nothing but the sand between his toes was an empowering moment and feeling the energy from the earth. It’s a feeling of comfort, warmth, and safety. Mother earth provides and protects us the way our own mothers do. Spending time away on country like beaches brings Davinder happiness and grounds him. Sitting amongst the palm trees, observing the formations of waves crashing and how the winds affect them. Listening to the birds sing in the distance and watching the insects crawl nearby. It’s a process that helps heal Davinder’s spirits and keeps him connected to his ancestors and mother earth.

In this painting, you’ll see the dotted lines that start from the middle of the page going out to the edges. The colour is to represent the different tones of the ocean and the sands. The dotted lines themselves are the formations of the waves while in motion at the beach, the painting is designed to have to illusion of waves crashing."
