Tappeti designed, manufactured and installed five rugs throughout the Commonwealth Bank building at Martin Place. Constructed in the 1920’s the large scale of the façade has a strong public presence. The interior space strong symmetry, using marble extensively throughout the space.
The rugs reflect the classical architecture, bringing a luxurious feel to the space. The consistent pile height, with detailed carving add definition to the design. Art-silk highlights add lustre to the gold element, giving depth to the design, and reflect the symmetry and sculptural treatment of the interior surfaces.
