Karinna established Tappeti ten years ago, to realise an idea to provide high quality, fully custom rugs to the interior decorator, architect and residential markets. Tappeti meaning rugs in Italian derives from her Italian heritage.
With over fifteen years of experience in interior and exterior environments across several major Australian and Global brands, Design and marketing qualifications and a background in Corporate Marketing inspired Karinna to establish the Tappeti brand in Australia.
As NSW President and National Director of the Design Institute of Australia, having been awarded a fellowship in 2011, Karinna actively participates voluntarily in the Design industry. She often supports students with their placements into the textile design industry, and speaks at industry events such as Designex and Coco Republic Design School.
Patrick is extremely passionate about the interiors market and has been in the industry for ten years.
After growing up in Africa he immigrated to New Zealand then spent a lot of time traveling in Europe and lived in London and New Zealand.. Patrick has worked across several areas in the interior specification market including furniture specification and has worked and specialised in international textile brands throughout Australia.
Patrick has a great understanding of clients briefs across residential and commercial and is extremely driven to build and maintain solid rapport with clients.
Senior Textile and Graphic Designer
Upon completing a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design from the University of Technology, Sydney, Danielah began her design career in Colour and Trim where she developed a keen eye for colour and an avid interest in surface treatment. After a brief stint in the fashion industry, Danielah has now turned her attention to textiles for interiors, embarking on a Master of Design in Textile Design at the College of Fine Arts (UNSW).
Danielah’s passion for textures and surface detail is fully explored in her role as Senior Textile Designer for Tappeti and her interest in Emotional Design supports her passion for creating beautiful pieces that engage the client.
Monica comes to us from a background in graphic design, and has worked in various architecture and interior design firms in a studio administrator capacity before joining Tappeti as studio manager. She ensures the studio is running smoothly and oversees administrative functions as well as production scheduling.
Always interested in varying creative facets, her interests lie in design, art, interiors, indie – alt music and world transporting novels.
Administration and Accounts Manager
Tracy is a professional and accomplished Bookkeeper / Administrator with over 10 years experience across many organisations and focusing on the design industry. During her career, she has also worked as an Office Manager and Financial Controller, where her role involved providing advice, financial product comparisons, Costings, importing, foresight and planning for the short and long-term financial needs of the business. She has proven herself to be highly adaptable to various organisational cultures, ranging from large fast-paced corporate environments to the more intimate environments of small business. Tracy know enjoys working part time and spending her free time with her daughter.
